Fallout 3 Gameplay Video: Megaton

As a followup to the first gameplay video for Fallout 3 that I posted on my site (just cause this game looks so cool), here’s the next gameplay video in that series that takes you into the town of Megaton.

One thing that jumped out at me was the third-person perspective and the ability to zoom in or out from that view.

Thinking back to Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, that would have been a neat feature in that game.

Anyways, here’s another Fallout 3 gameplay video from Bethesda.

Fallout 3 Gameplay Video: Escape

I must admit that for being as excited as I am about the new upcoming Fallout 3 for Xbox 360, I haven’t really even dug into the gameplay videos or anything… I’ve only seen pictures and articles.

I wasn’t too surprised to find the gameplay videos, I should have thought of this months ago though. This game looks creepy and great!

Here’s the first gameplay video, revolving around the Escape portion of the game, right in the beginning of it all.

A Mercenaries 2 Commercial

As an Xbox 360 player, I anticipate certain new games. I don’t get as wrapped up in the world of gaming as much as when I was in high school, for example, but certain games I find to be pretty entertaining.

Replayability

Mercenaries (on the Xbox in my situation) was a game that I found to be very replayable. The replayability mostly stemmed from the fact that I wasn’t good enough to step through the game easily. Even though I played it a lot, I never beat the original Mercenaries.

So I guess maybe not replayable in the sense that I played the game several times. More replayable in the sense that it took me a very very long time to progress through it.

In fact, it was about 2 years of playing Mercenaries before I finally got far enough though it that I found out there is a completely different map and area of the game that you play in during the second half of the game. It was like getting to play a sequel 2 years later, only it was the second half of the game I never had played my way to.

For me, this new Mercenaries 2 that is coming out for Xbox and Playstation 3 (and probably some other systems) is actually Mercenaries 3.

What a story, huh?

Anyways, I’m excited about the new Mercenaries 2. It looks like fun. I hope there is some good online action, the Mercenaries concept seems like a great fit for online play.

Here’s the commercial for the upcoming Mercenaries sequel, kinda interesting.

GTA IV launch day burglary, how appropriate

I suppose this is an appropriate way to celebrate the launch of GTA IV. I’m surprised this didn’t make more of a stir in the “anti-violent video game” sectors of the politics and mainstream media.

GTA IV is unleashed upon the world.

In case you haven’t heard, GTA IV has just been released. This is a monumental release.

Sneaky Release?

If you have not been paying attention, the release of GTA IV might just have snuck up on you. And clubbed you in the back of the head just before hijacking your car.

I am not referring to most gaming-informed people out there. I am referring mostly to the general public. There was very little fanfare about GTA IV in the mainstream leading up to the release. I saw the first ad for GTA IV on tv that I had ever seen just last night.

A Perfect Game

At least according to IGN. It’s a perfect game, that’s why it great. GTA IV will be one of the legendary games of this generation of video game consoles.
