A friend of mine sent me this video the other day. This is awesome. Being a big fan of Aphex Twin, I really appreciated seeing this video. Being that this might be one of my all time favorite Aphex Twin songs, all the better.
I stumbled across a Behemoth live video, it kept me entertained for a few minutes. I like it when heavy bands play in the middle of the day, there’s something kinda funny about that. The sunlight and no darkness, and all. I’ve seen Slayer live in the middle of the day too. I like metal better when it’s in an indoor venue.
Check out this behind the scenes video after watching this live track. I got a kick out of the guys playing the horn tracks.
I ended up watching a string of videos on YouTube about crabs and spiders, somehow. I’m not really sure how I got there. I think I saw something aquarium related, and then ended up watching the Robber Crab video and it went from there.
This guy almost hits a Robber Crab on the road. Now that I think about it, I’m not sure why he was videotaping driving down the dirt road in the first place…
And then the Camel Spider video, with the weird sounding dude with really clear enunciation abilities talking about it.
Which led me to this guy who ran into a big garage spider.
And all those reminded me of the Mantis Shrimp for some reason, so I had to check him out again…
Now I’m kinda creeped out. Glad my aquarium doesn’t have any stowaway mantis shrimp. That would be one hell of a problem to have to deal with.
Here’s a good one. A good chunk of classic NES deaths. I watched the entire thing, mesmerized by it’s consistency and waiting to see what game they might show next.
A good song from early Fleetwood Mac.
And a quote regarding influencing of metal:
While the Mac is revered for its early material such as “Black Magic Woman” and “Rattlesnake Shake” and the glorious instrumental “Albatross,” Spencer points out that the music had already begun to move in strange directions with Peter Green’s acid-soaked 1970 U.K. hit “The Green Manalishi (With the Two-Prong Crown).”
“I wasn’t keen on the direction we went into with ‘Green Manalishi’ and all that, which led to the birth of heavy metal,” Spencer says. “It’s such a shame that metal sprouted from that stuff. Death-metal bands give credit to Fleetwood Mac today.”
