Believe me, this is not a consistent situation.

I’m on my second Olde English Forty in two days. It’s kinda cool. I guess I’d talk it up if it came up during a casual conversation. I just like drinking malt liquor while watching Twins baseball, what can I say?

I should drink one of these every night. Maybe I shouldn’t. It’s hard to say. It probably depends on the evening more than anything.

As an afterthought….

Last night after I finished off my Olde English HG800, I browsed eBay and ended up dropping 14 bucks for an Olde English 800 baseball cap. I hope I receive it soon. It’s being delivered to my office. That will be some good subject material for office conversation, that is for sure. Guaranteed.

New Rally Cap?

I can’t wait until I receive my hat. That is going to be awesome. I’m going to wear it while I disc golf. That should be fun. I’ll probably wear the hat at other time as well. Maybe during Twins games. Maybe the hat will turn out to be one of those mythical rally caps for Twins baseball.

I could only hope.

Base hit to left field.

It’s the top of the 8th inning and the Twins are getting shut down 2-0 by the A’s. This sucks. C’mon Delmon Young, see the ball, hit the ball. See the ball, drive in some runs. See the ball, hit a home run.

I think this current Twins team will be a fine offensive team, better than most Twins fans are used to. It’ll just take some time. These guys have to gel a bit.

There are a lot of new faces, and as a collective whole, the Twins need to hit their stride.

In another month, it’ll be interesting to look at the Twins stats.

The Oakland A’s Defense

On another note, the A’s defense has been pretty funny the last couple days. Dropping balls, balls rolling between legs, it almost seems derogatory. Haha. Yeah. The the Twins know how to capitalize on this stuff.

Twins Win Tonight?

They’ll probably end up winning 3-2 with a save by Joe Nathan tonight.

About 30 more minutes and I’ll find out if that prediction was correct.

Yeah, there is actually somebody else that can hit home runs that is not named Morneau, Kubel or Harris. Granted, Harris only has one home run at this point. Kubel has 3 home runs. Morneau has 5 home runs. And now…. Monroe has 1 home run as well.

Yeah!

I wish some of the other other guys would hit home runs. It’s just so fun to see. Especially when this Twins team is touted as more of a hitting team than a pitching team. It’s kinda the opposite at this point.

Craig Monroe is having a good night overall. If Dick and Bert have it correct, he just needs to hit a triple to hit for the cycle tonight. And it’s all off of the pitcher Joe Blanton. Not too bad of a night for Craig Monroe with all things considered.

So, Kubel is running around the bases about as fast as he can go. Kubel gets waved around third base and chugs home. Suzuki, the A’s catcher, catches the ball and Kubel slides right into him.

Kubel reaches around Suzuki and touches home base. He’s called safe! Suzuki looks confused and frustrated. The A’s manager is pissed. Kubel made a heads up play and is safe. 2-0 Twins.

Yeah. The Twins are fun to watch sometimes.

I can’t necessarily say that I was completely ecstatic about the Minnesota Twins season debut. I miss Johan Santana throwing out the opening day pitch. I miss Hunter out in center field. But, at the same time, it’s hard not to be excited about this Twins team.

This first game sealed the deal for me.

I admit, if I had been at spring training watching games and watching the Twins do their spring training things, my opinion may be different. This is a pretty exciting team.

These guys are gonna score some runs. There is a certain youthful enthusiasm that breaks through to me. These guys want to play hard and these guys want to win. These types of situations break the expectations mold. The Twins are gonna be good this year. They gotta be.

They are gonna run the bases hard. They are gonna take advantage of second chances when the other team blows an easy out. They are gonna play excited, they are gonna play hard.

They will win games. They will also probably lose some spectacular games. They will grow and they will learn. This Twins team is built to wreak havoc on other un-suspecting teams. And I can’t wait to see them do so. It’s different than I am used to seeing, as far as the Twins are concerned. But they will be fun to watch. This is gonna be one hell of a team in a couple years. It’ll be fun to watch them this year.

It was fun to watch Joe Nathan make very quick work of Toriiiiiiii Hunter. It was fun to watch Gomez put on a show that probably made Toriiiiiiiii Hunter a little bit excited and jealous. Yeah. It’s gonna be a fun Twins baseball season.
