I have a sort of simple rule of thumb (three things actually) that I often use when trying to target specific keywords. Now, obviously things can be quite a bit more complicated sometimes, but it usually seems to boil down to a combination of three things for me to get search engines to recognize your site for a specific keyword.

This is becoming my new mantra when undertaking new online projects. Just get something out there. It all starts with a web site, most of the time, so just get a site up and get going.
I see people mull over small details far too long before actually getting a site online to support the backbone of their project. Get something up right away, here’s why.

I’m glad that baseball season is finally back in gear. Twins games will now be on TV/radio almost every night, yeah! These West Coast games are a little crazy though, I gotta stay up late to catch the whole game.
Have you ever used a web form that just left all kinds of things to be desired? I have, and it wasn’t a fun experience for me, or probably any other people that were using it. A bad form can ruin a web site experience quickly.
Bad forms are easy to avoid though, they just need to be easy to use and easy to understand.
Check out these 8 rules for effective web forms to get an idea of what I’m talking about. If you have experience designing usable web forms, a lot of these points might be nothing new. Do you already think that the idea of a reset button is just not a good idea?

Web design inspiration is always a good thing, right? I love to check out different web sites to see what people are trying to do on the web. There is an overabundance of awesome design on the Internet, hidden among all the weird (bad) design that is out there as well.
My latest inspiration came from viewing this massive list of top women web designers. Very nice design work abounds.
